The BBC story attached isn't as good as the original story I saw with the image the, now sadly fairly dull (it was never the same when they dropped The Creature from the Wack Lagoon,) Hip-Hop Connection. I cut out and hung pic and story, in which Ol' Dirty, whilst on trial, had called a female juror a 'sperm donor' (<i>not</i> receptacle/bucket, oddly) and informed a New York journalist that his city (and indeed, the world, if I remember it as well as I think) had better look out, as he was 'after them'. <br /> <br /><b>"I Ain't No Joke"</b> <br /> <br />It's a brilliant story, but it's the line above - one Dirt McGirt used on both 'Return...' and his second album 'N***a Please' (the greatest soul album ever recorded) that continues to resonate. Ol' Dirty was a thrill to read, read about and listen to. The world is worse off for this magnificently solipsistic and unbelievably charismatic lunatic's absence. <br /> <br />It wasn't about laughing <i>at</i> you, Dirt.
